What Kind of Adventure Seeker are YOU?

Here’s an interesting fact taken from article about adventure travel in Travel Market Report by Barbara Peterson on February 17, 2015.“This year alone, tour operators specializing in the adventure travel market expect business to be up around 23%, according to the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).

Four out of every ten travelers are taking some sort of adventure trip, but that includes a wide range of trips from hardcore mountain climbing expeditions to “soft” adventures that require minimal training, like a safari or a bird watching expedition.”|

She makes it look easy, doesn't she? Would you/could you be this kind of adventurer?
She makes it look easy, doesn't she? Would you/could you be this kind of adventurer?

According to the article, ATTA segments adventure travelers into 3 groups:

Adventure Enthusiasts:  the super-serious wilderness types who seek out new challenges

Basic Adventurers: Those who prefer a moderate level of activity

Grazers: Travelers who might incorporate some light adventure activities with beach and family time.

Which one are you? It’s definitely true that many adventure travelers enjoy researching and booking their own travel, believing that by booking direct they will save money. If you love the satisfaction of researching a destination yourself, well, I totally understand you and get that. However you are most often mistaken that by doing so you will save money. And you certainly will not save time!

Most travel companies happily work with professional travel planners because it is smart business. By having a professional take care of their adventure customers, they save precious dollars on staff time, and they compensate the pro by sharing the commission that they would have otherwise kept “in-house”. What do YOU get out of that relationship? Benefits too numerous to mention!

Please know that when you use a talented travel planner, your vacation dollars will be wisely spent. Your relationship with them is an important one; from the beginning of planning to your arrival back home, your travel planner will be in your back pocket, giving advice that comes from years of experience. Now, doesn’t that make perfect sense?

So stop beating your head against the wall and wondering if the adventure company you chose will still be in business when you arrive to start your journey. Your travel advisor will always have your best interest in mind. Create a lasting relationship, get to know them and allow them to know what makes you tick, and you’ll never have to wonder again! Now doesn’t that sound like a great plan?

I'd love to hear about your adventures...share them with us here!

Peace,  Bobbie
